Cocoa & Whey Cakes was set up at the end of 2014 by former solicitor, Penelope Hurst, who, after years of baking cakes on request, decided that all things ‘cake’ were her definite passion.
All the cakes are designed and lovingly baked to order by Penelope in her home kitchen. Every cake is made using the finest ingredients including homemade preserves and fillings, light and creamy buttercreams, smooth ganaches made with high quality Belgian chocolate and unusually delicious Swiss fondant. Wherever possible we use locally sourced ingredients and always use fresh, free-range eggs.
Every cake is individually made with careful attention to detail and many hours are spent perfecting sugar flowers, piping details and ensuring that each cake looks beautiful and tastes delicious.
Cocoa & Whey’s kitchen is registered with Winchester City Council and has the highest 5 star hygiene rating. Penelope has also completed a Level 2 Hygiene Certificate.
Cocoa & Whey Cakes is a preferred supplier to Chawton House Library and Bonhams Barn. Other beautiful local venues that we have delivered to include Froyle Park, Alton House Hotel and Northbrook Park.
